TANK CLEANING

SCUM

The scum layer is made up of grease, oils, protein, fats, soap scum, etc. Anything light in matter, floats to the top and forms the scum layer. Most homes with garbage disposals have thicker scum layers than others because macerated materials tend to rise to the top.

SLUDGE

Sludge occupies the bottom layer of the tank and is made up of various settled solids and debris. This portion of settled solids is typically dark in nature and the top and bottom layers contribute to the overall health of your entire septic system.

WASTEWATER

Wastewater takes up the middle portion and consists of pretreated water called effluent.  The tank is a tranquil environment where baffles prevent water from flowing in and out of the tank without time to settle, known as pretreatment.  Without maintenance the top and bottom layers make the middle portion thicker and this is the portion that travels to and ruins your drain field.

COVID-19 CLEANING & DISINFECTING

The virus that causes COVID-19 can be deposited on surfaces. People can become infected if they touch these surfaces and then touch their nose, mouth, or eyes. At The Coles Group, we provide shared space disinfection services to kill the germs left on the surface, reducing the risk of spreading infection. Our teams of trained cleaning technicians follow CDC cleaning and disinfecting guidelines so that you can re-open and operate responsibly and safely.

CONTAMINATION - The CDC states a person may be able to get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

CLEANING involves the use of soap and water to remove germs and other surface impurities. The risk of spreading infection is lowered by reducing the number of germs on the surface.

DISINFECTING uses chemicals to kill germs. This disinfecting process does not necessarily remove germs, but killing germs on a surface after cleaning can lower the risk of spreading infection.

SANITIZING involves cleaning and disinfecting, done separately or in combination, to reduce the number of germs on the surface to a safe level as determined by safety standards.
